This new limited edition release continues both our current Braniff and Boeing 727 anniversary series in the 1/500 scale. After the Braniff titles on the fuselage of the originally introduced dark blue was barely visible in overcast weather, the color was lightened somewhat, and officially introduced as "Solid New Dark Blue" in 1967. Compared to the many bold colors on other Braniff aircraft, this new dark blue" was deemed too "subtle" and even "bland" and was used on only ten aircraft, including this 727-200.
