Russian Air Force Sukhoi SU-27UB "St.George"

The SU-27, with its NATO designation “Flanker” was developed – just like the F-14 – at the height of the cold war between East and West, its final shape of 1977 resembling the F-14, and especially the land based F-15 “Eagle” closely. Two engines of the type Ljulka AL- 31F, with an afterburner thrust of an impressive 13,600 Kp, are capable of accelerating the “Flanker” to Mach 2.3.
