At one time, almost 60 A321 aircraft formed the backbone Vietnam Airlines’ fleet. While the oldest of these have since been retired, the airline at the same time started modernizing its fleet with twenty new, state-of-the-art A321neo aircraft, the first of which arrived in 2018. They are used throughout the airline’s Asian route network, including longer-distance destinations such as Japan and South Korea.
