The Taiwanese airline Starlux, founded in 2017, ordered 1/500 scale models of the Airbus A321neo for sale on board as well as online via its own website. The airline ultimately started operations with the then brand-new aircraft in 2019. Shortly afterwards, the first long-haul aircraft were added to the fleet to support its route network expansion.
