In 1978, the model railway accessories manufacturer Herpa premiered authentic car models under the label „Herpa Auto-Markt“. These first vehicles – among them the BMW 633 CSi, Porsche 924 or Opel Ascona Voyage – quickly captured the hearts of the model train fans resulting in an independent hobby, “collecting of model vehicles”. For this distinctive anniversary, some of the first models are released in the anniversary edition “30 years of Herpa miniature models”.
