The main branch of fire control, rescue service and the technical danger prevention in Frankfurt am Main is the municipal fire department with about 900 officers, 7 fire stations and several field offices. Added to that can be 28 auxiliary fire departments in the districts. Furthermore the airport fire department as well as three plant fire departments and a bigger corporate fire department. To ensure permanent operational readiness of technology and personnel, the municipal fire department operates a school in which firemen are trained and advanced as well as a school for emergency medical services and several centrally located garages for instance for vehicles and telecommunication.
