On April 23, 1500 Pedro Alvares Cabral and his fleet of a dozen ships landed at a bay he called "Porto Seguro". Today, he is generally accepted as the discoverer of Brazil. Two years ago, the entire country celebrated the fith centennial of this important dat. This MD-11 of the Brazilian arline VASP received a sail with the number 500 near the cockpit in the year 2000.
