Although Boeing has discontinued the 757 production in 2006, it is currently experiencing a renaissance thanks to Aviation Partners Boeing. After its tremendous success with the 737, APB is now also converting 757s with its characteristic winglets, which improve the 757-200 ET-version’s long-haul qualities especially. Now, United is also beginning to re-equip the wings of its 757-222s with the visually attractive “dog-ears”. The original, manufactured in 1990 and registered as N517UA is a 757-222.
