On 1 July 1947, the then US president Truman received his own“company airplane”. It was based on a DC-6, but was operatedwith the official classification VC-118. The “Independence”, namedafter the president’s hometown, received a livery, which was originallyintended for an airline, which discarded it. With this livery,the first DC-6 model will now be released in the 1/400 scale.
