Still to this day, the Convair CV-990 is the fastest non-supersonic passenger aircraft with a speed of more than 1,000 kilometers per hour (over 650 mph). Swissair operated eight aircraft between 1962 and 1975 on long-distance routes to South America or East Asia. One of these sleek aircraft is on display at the Museum of Transportation in Luzern, the most visited museum in Switzerland.
