The MIG-29 is Russia’s latest jet. The ur-model had its maiden flight in 1977 and has since been further developed into tremendous versions. In 1986, the MIG-29E with a completely digital cockpit was launched thanks to which the airplane is capable of flying unbelievable maneuvers. Spectacular acrobatic flights at air shows earned the “Strizhi” Aerobatic Team world fame which operates eight MiG-29Rs as well as seven Suchhoi SU-27s at the Kubinka base near Moscow.
