In summer 1958, Opel launched the Kapitän P with a 2.5 liter straight 6-cylinder and 80 HP. Between June 1958 and June 1959, only 34,842 Kapitän P’s were manufactured. It is the Kapitän with the shortest production time and the rarest of its kind. To not lose ground, Opel was forced to massively revise the Kapitän after one year only and the engine also received more capacity on its old days. The model change offered a welcome opportunity to present an all-new car along with the new engine, the Kapitän PII. It is the original of the Herpa model with optional folding sun roof. The engine now pulls 90 HP from the 2.6 liter cubic capacity reaching 150 km/h. From August 1959 until 1963, Opel produced 145,618 vehicles. The former Magic model is now released individually in blue with white roof and detailed prints. Item was produced in different colors. Delivered color might deviate from the photo.
