Olympic Airlines has commissioned Herpa to produce a follow-up edition of the Boeing 747-200 model in the 1/500 scale. the first 1993 edition, back when the airline still operated under the name of Olympic Airways, was actually one of Herpa's very earliest models in the 1/500 scale. It belonged, together with two follow-up editions, to the retail collection until 2000. The model's current follow-up edition will be released with the usual "new generation" details such as true-to-scale landing gear and additional imprinting, including, for the first time, the registration SX-OAD.
