NASA OV-101 "Enterprise" Space Shuttle + B747-SCA
Product number:
513111
Listprice:
€39.50
NASA’s first Space Shuttle was not yet capable of flying into space. Since the Enterprise, named after the TV series Star Trek did not possess a thermal protection shield, it would have burned up at re-entry into the earth’s atmosphere. It was built as a prototype for the actual space shuttles, which were operated in 1977 within the scope of the ALT program (Approach and Landing Test) to test the space shuttle’s performance on approach. The Enterprise was transported on a reconfigured Boeing 747-123 with the registration N905NA. Models of both aircraft will now be released together in a 1/500 scale set.
