No other aircraft type has become such a symbol for the rebirth of German aviation as the twin-engined Convair Liner. The postwar Lufthansa purchased four of them in 1954, even before it resumed operations. On April 1, 1955, the original of this Convair, registered as D-ACDH, launched the new Lufthansa with a flight from Hamburg to Munich via Frankfurt.
