The business model of the Swiss airline, headquartered in the canton of Schwyz, not far from Zurich-Kloten Airport, is based on three pillars: scheduled flights, charter, and wet lease. The latter pillar created the connection to Swiss, for which they took over quite a few connections from then on. From 2014, the aging Fokker 100s were replaced by Embraer ERJ-190s, and starting in 2021, new aircraft of the second generation of Embraer’s successful jet family followed, among them HB-AZI, the first E195-E2 aircraft delivered.
