For many long years, the livery of Delta Air Lines, founded in 1924, was considered sacrosanct. The world’s second largest airline, by number of passengers, was known for its conservative management. Any form of marketing knick-knacks or experiments on the livery were off-limits until they dared a moderate update in 1996. But customer response was rather restrained so, at the turn of the millennium, there was already another livery. In the wake of 9/11, even Delta Air Lines got into serious difficulties and applied for bankruptcy according to Chapter 11 while maintaining operations. The airline was able to leave creditor protection on April 30, 2007 and presented a new livery yet again to mark the new era, which also graces this Boeing 767-332 model, registered N125DL.
