In South China, China Southern Airlines with headquarters in Guangzhou, the former Canton predominantly operates on regional routes. With the Olympic Summer Games 2008 in Peking coming up they intend to commission the first of five Airbus A380 mega-jets for China. This could well fall through, because Airbus – as is generally known – has significantly postponed the start of production.
