British Airways operates the biggest route network worldwide and serves the long-haul distances with one of the biggest 747-fleets of all. 57 examples alone of the latest -400 series (at BA -436) remain, among them also the original of this model novelty with the registration G-CIVO. Commissioned in December 1997, it initially carried the colors “Benyhone / Mountain of Birds”, the design of the traditionally checkered plaid “Tartan”. But like all other airplanes in the fleet, it received the since 1999 uniform “Union Flag” design.
