Eight aircraft of the SU-27UB series, among them two of the two-seater variant, were purchased by Angola from Belorussian assets. The machine code-named “Flanker-C” by NATO had its maiden flight as early as 1971, but nevertheless belongs to the most modern fighter jets of ex-Soviet or Russian production. It is in certain respects comparable with the American F-18, extremely agile and depending on its mission profile, most effectively armed.
