To cope with the long distances between Northern Europe and the Canary Islands, this Spanish charter airline, founded in 1966, purchased three of the very first DC-8 version from Eastern Airlines. That made them quite an exception in Europe, as they had only been intended for the US market. The model with the registration EC-BXR is a limited edition of 2,200 pieces.
