Originally manufactured as a passenger plane for China Air Lines, it was converted in China at the end of 2008 and delivered to Air Cargo Germany in February of the following year. The BDSF carries up to 125 tons of payload for structural reasons, the hinged bow nose of the 747F couldn’t be retrofi tted on this passenger version. The long upper deck was kept also. The model, a 747-409BDSF manufactured in 1990, features the registration D-ACGA.
