From 1976, this TU-144 was frequently used to test operations, payloads and fuel consumption on long distance routes, proving that distances of over 6,000 kilometers were possible. In 1977 she performed first flights on the Moscow-Khabarovsk route, connecting the Soviet capitol with the provincial capital city in the far east of the vast nation. Flight time in both directions was less than three and a half hours for the 6,300 km distance.
