The probably first coup d‘etat by air in history took place in 1921 when the former Austrian Emperor Charles I. tried to save, or better reconquer, at least his Hungarian crown. From their exile in Switzerland, he and his wife Zita flew from Zurich to Budapest in this Junkers F13 of the Swiss airline Ad Astra. The attempted coup failed, but the aircraft survived to this day and is a special exhibit in the Hungarian Museum of Transportation in Budapest.
