In spring 2008, a rather elaborate, second model upgrading of the since 2001 manufactured SL with the internal factory name R230 became available. The front was – just like on the CLS – designed completely new with single headlights, new spoiler, new radiator grill with only one disc as well as modified air inlets. The rear was renewed with new back lights, a new hatch, a diffuser cartridge in the rear skirt as well as newly styled tail pipes. New are also the variants SL 280 with 231 HP, the SL 350 (315 HP), the SL 500 and the SL 600, which then boast a proud 517 HP. Now Herpa releases the models in a metallic and a standard variant. .
