In 1984, the legendary entrepreneur Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson founded the very successful Virgin Atlantic Airways. The low-cost airline Virgin Express emanated from the Belgian EuroBelgian Airlines founded in 1991. It cooperated with the former Belgian national carrier Sabena and after its bankruptcy, with the successor SN Brussels Airlines, but operates its fleet, consisting of eleven Boeing 737s, mainly under its own identity. The original of this model with the registration OO-VEX is one of the very few examples of the –300 series to be equipped with winglets. The model is limited to 1,000 items.
