USAF 9th SRW, Beale AB Lockheed SR-71B

Probably one of the most exciting airplanes of all times is the high velocity long-distance reconnaissance SR-71. It succeeded the A-12, which was developed in the 1950s. The SR-71B is a training version two of it were built especially for training on this highly complex system. One of them is the original of this new model. With the registration 17956, it belongs to the “9th SRW” (Strategic Reconnaissance Wing) based at Beale Air Force Base near Marysville, California.
