This A330-300 has made US Airways the first airline in the USA to operate Airbus’ large twinjet, mainly on such overseas routes as Philadelphia to Frankfurt. As early as 1996, US Airways announced it was heading in the direction of an all-Airbus fleet, and ordered more than four hundred aircraft from the European manufacturer. It has lately been in the headlines as a candidate for takeover by United Airlines.
