The SU-27 is one of the world’s latest and most powerful fighter jets, which outshines many western examples. It completed its maiden flight in 1977. After the Soviet Union’s collapse, the Ukraine, as one of the biggest of the new republics, inherited amongst others 80 airplanes of this type. The original of this mold novelty belongs to the 831st tactical brigade at Myrhorod in the province of Poltava Oblast in Central Ukraine. It carries the addition “Guardian” or “Garde” because it already existed in WWII and is therefore specially decorated as traditional squadron.
