U.S. Air Force MQ-9A Reaper Block 5 - New York Air National Guard, 108th Attack Squadron, Hancock Field

Product number: 580892
Listprice: €68.95
The MQ-9 Reaper is a remotely controlled, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). It is flown by a crew of two from a ground station. In contrast to earlier UAVs that were primarily used for surveillance and reconnaissance, the Reaper is the first UAV designed as an attack platform. With its single 900 hp turboprop engine, the MQ-9 can reach a maximum speed of 480 km/h (300 mph), while the 1,800 kg (4,000 lb) of fuel give it a range of 1,900 km (1,200 mi). There are up to four hardpoints under its 20 meter (65 ft) wingspan to accommodate a range of armaments, such as the Hellfire air-to-ground missile or laser guided-bombs. In 2007, the United States Air Force took delivery of the first of over 300 Reapers on order. Due to attrition and retirement of older aircraft, there are currently around 220 MQ-9s currently active in more than 20 squadrons, including eleven Air National Guard units. The 108th Attack Squadron, based in Syracuse, is part of the New York Air National Guard and responsible for training MQ-9 aircrews for the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. This 1/72 scale die-cast metal model can be displayed on its landing gear or in-flight with retracted landing gear. Two sets of landing gear and a display stand are included.
