Howard Hughes, famed pilot and tycoon in his time, and his Transcontinental & Western Air (later Trans World Airlines, or simply TWA) were instrumental in the development of the Lockheed Constellation aircraft family at the end of the 1930s. After the end of the Second World War, development progressed rapidly, culminating in the L-1049 Super Constellation, of which TWA operated a total of 47, mostly on long-haul routes, from 1951 to 1968. To this day, the legendary “Super Connie” is considered one of the most elegant and famous aircraft in civil aviation. Herpa SnapFit models shine with an unbeatable value for money. They come with a display stand and can be assembled in a few simple steps without glue or other tools.
