After Swissair, one of Europe’s top airlines at the time, was forced to file for bankruptcy in 2001, its successor – Swiss International Air Lines – formed one year later around Crossair, took over this MD-83 and other aircraft from its predecessors. As one of only two MD-83s, HB-ISX received the livery of the new airline.
