The Schweizer Fliegertruppe had existed since the break-out of WWI in 1914. Due to Europe’s political development it was declared a branch of the armed services in October 1936. Three Ju-52/3m had been in the fleet since 1939. They were not de-commissioned until 1981, and replaced by helicopters. The original of this model with the military registration A-703 today flies as HB-HOP at Ju-Air.
