Circus Busch had its original headquarters in Nuremberg where it was established by Jacob Busch in 1919. At the end of WWII, the circus was in Meerane, Saxony. As early as autumn 1945, the circus resumed its operations in the Soviet occupation zone. Later, the company was placed under trusteeship, in 1952 nationalized and ultimately merged with the Circus Barlay to become VEB Zentral-Zirkus. After the GDR’s national circus was liquidated, the right to the name and parts of the technical equipment were purchased by Heinz Geier, the operator of Circus Busch-Roland. Part of the former fleet was inter alia this Roman Diesel, which is now also available at the Herpa brand shop.
