The Berlin Fire Department is the oldest professional fire department in Germany. It was founded in 1851. Around 5300 employees are spread across 35 stations. This makes it not only the oldest, but also the largest professional fire department in the country. Another 58 volunteer fire departments with about 1500 active volunteer members support the full-time firefighters here. The second model to appear (after 097338) after the long dry spell is the Mercedes-Benz Vario with long wheelbase. In the current design, of course, this should not be missing in any collection.
