The municipal fire brigade Oldenburg is supported by the six auxiliary fire brigades Eversten, Haarentor, Ofenerdiek, Ohmstede, Osternburg and Stadtmitte. The local fire brigades are utilized for additional safe-guarding of the local and supra-local fire protection and assistance. For disaster control the brigade Haarentor takes care of civil defense and the local fire brigade Osternburg of medical services.
