The Dutch carrier Martinair (MP) was once one of Europe’s most popular and well-known holidaymaker airlines, but is now active only in the cargo sector as a subsidiary of KLM. In 1990, it was no longer enough to use the Douglas models for freight and passengers. MP acquires eight Boeing 767-300s. For the 50th anniversary in 2008, the Boeing with the registration PH-MCL ("Königin Beatrix") was given a classic retro livery. It took off on its last flight on 31 October 2011.
