The internationally operating logistics and forwarding company was established by Gottfried Schenker in 1872. In 1931 it was taken over by the former German Reichsbahn and was also owned by the German Bundesbahn after WWII until the Stinnes AG took over the majority of shares in 1991. In 2002 the majority of the Stinnes AG was in turn taken over by the Deutsche Bahn AG. Today, Schenker is part of the DB AG’s transport and logistics department. The Schenker group employs almost 55,500 people at about 1,500 locations worldwide. A partial edition of this exclusive Schenker model is now also available from the Herpa brands shop.
