Waldleiningen Castle is a romantic palace complex of the municipality of Mudau and now houses a psychosomatic clinic. From 1828, the castle was built by Prince Karl zu Leiningen based on British castles, such as Abbotsford, the house of the world -famous Scottish writer Walter Scott, and completed by the successors of the prince in 1873. The architect Karl Brenner, artistic consultant of the court painter Sebastian Eckhardt, was the builder of the castle.
