The Transall C-160D with the air force registration 50✠86 was the last of this versatile transport aircraft to be deployed at the test and evaluation center Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 61, or WTD 61 for short, in Manching, Bavaria. It was also one of the last “Tralls”, a handful of remaining aircraft still in the Bundeswehr inventory at that time. On November 23, 2021, 50✠86 made its final flight from Manching to Altenstadt Army Airfield in Upper Bavaria, where it will be used as an exhibition and teaching aircraft at the local airborne and air transport school. Painted in standard camouflage, a special farewell logo was applied on the left side, together with signatures of her last crew.
