Following German reunification, the MiG-29s of East Germany’s 73rd Fighter Squadron, delivered just two years earlier, in 1988, were transferred to the West German air force. The agile fighter was a welcome participant in NATO exercises, acting as aggressors for air combat training. Before their retirement in 2003, aircraft 29+10 was painted with a special Color scheme, commemorating the numerous deployments to the United States.
