Luftwaffe Airbus A310-300

We have all seen the terrible pictures of the devastating tidal wave in Southeast Asia, and we will never forget them. Of course, Herpa wants to help, and that as tangibly as possible. In a few weeks, we will release a limited follow-up edition of 1,000 models of the Airbus A310-300 (MRT) of the Luftwaffe. This model carries the registration 10+26, the name "Hans Grade", and will come in a special box. It is the detailed miniature version of one of the four A310s of the German Air Force's fleet, and it is currently serving in Southeast Asia with its medical equipment. Minimum price is 20 Euros but there are, of course, no limits if you want to donate more. At the same time, Herpa will release a limited-edition model of four hundred Volvo FH canvas trailer truck models, carrying the design of THW (a German disaster relief org.), which will be available as of 22 euros, from the same online source. Every single penny you pay will be donated to those hit by the tsunami.The aim of our help is for the money to go directly to those in need. Therefore, we have decided to support a very practical privately organized support effort. Our neighbor Erich Hauck, a sixty-one year old army officer from Dietenhofen - the home of Herpa in Bavaria - has very close connections to those who live in the flooded areas, and became active immediately after the tragedy occurred. His niece has been living for years in Beruwela, a Sri Lankan village of 2,000 inhabitants, which was severely devastated by the mega wave. Together with her husband, she operated a hotel that provided work for 120 of the village's inhabitants.Erich Hauck's niece herself often drives almost 100 kilometers to the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo, to purchase food and medical supplies for the survival of many of her village neighbors. And Erich Hauck has been gathering donations to make this important relief effort possible.
