The German Lufthansa, which re-arose in 1954, ordered four aircrafts of the model L-1049 Super Constellation from Lockheed and put them into service in 1955. They had hardly taken off, when the post-war airline ordered four more aircrafts, amongst them the model with the name of D-ALOF. It became part of the Lufthansa fleet in 1956 and was painted with the so-called “Parabola-Design” of the Airline – up until now for many people the most attractive painting Lufthansa has ever carried. The aircraft remained with the fleet for eleven years and last served within the scope of the “Airbus-Service” in the short distance traffic. At the end of 1967 it was sold to the United States. Available in December at your local eXtra partner in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK.
