Between January and April 2003, Lufthansa used this plane to test the most rapid and powerful internet access that has ever been used on board an airliner. The service itself will be introduced on Lufthansa long-haul flights by mid-2004. A limited edition of 1,000 pieces, exclusively for Herpa eXtra.
