In partnership with Airbus and the Fraunhofer Instute, Lufthansa Technik has applied a special coating on this A330 that mimics the surface of shark skin. The ribbed pattern reduces turbulence in the airflow and thereby reduces drag, and should help reduce kerosene consumption by one percent.
