With flight LH2020 on October 31, 2020, Lufthansa celebrated the opening of the new Berlin airport, named for Willy Brandt, the former mayor of (West) Berlin and later also (West German) chancellor. For the special occasion, this A320neo aircraft was renamed “Neubrandenburg” and also received a special branding as “Hauptstadtflieger” (roughly translating to “capital’s plane”) , continuing the tradition of applying special titles such as “Fanhansa” or “Siegerflieger”, as used during the soccer world cup a few years ago.
