"Flying is for everyone" – that is the simple advertising slogan invented by Kurt Conle, and it stood for an era of Lufttransport-Union, better known as LTU, entered in the German trade register on October 20, 1955. Today, it is called Lufttransport-Unternehmen GmbH, and its ultramodern fleet carries some six million passengers each year from many German airports to more than seventy destinations around the globe. To celebrate its fiftieth anniversary, LTU ordered two models of its historic fleet to be sold exclusively by the airline: a DC-4 of 1958, and a Fokker 27 that the airline operated from 1961 through 1968.
