Over 1300 full-time and voluntary firemen at the fire department Dortmund care for the safety of the people around the clock. Annually, approx. 30,000 assignments are accomplished. But the fire department Dortmund is not only responsible for fire-fighting but also for technical assistance at accidents of any kind, for emergency management and – together with other aid organizations – for Emergency Medical Services. Preventive fire protection is also a task of the brigade. With more than 140 emergency vehicles, which are based at 7 fire- and rescue stations of the municipal fire department and at 19 fire stations of the auxiliary fire department, the fire department Dortmund is one of the Federal Republic’s biggest brigades. As Herpa model, a turntable-fire escape will be released on a MAN LE 2000. Only available in June 2007 at one of our Herpa eXtra partner shops in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
