As early as 1478, one of the first breweries was established in the south of Graz near Feldkirchen. Originally, Puntigam wasn’t the name of a town but a family name. Of the numerous small breweries established from the 15th century in Graz, only a few survived in the long run, like the Puntigam brewery. The entrepreneur Franz Hold purchased the brewery in 1840 from the Knabl-family and began to modernize the equipment. As early as 1872, about 100,000 hectoliters of beer were already produced. A partial edition of this exclusive model is also available from the Herpa brands shop.
