Established in Morocco in 1943, the 314th Wing has been based at Tours in the Loire Valley for more than half a century. Equipped with the Alpha Jet E, the unit was responsible for the advanced training of French fighter pilots between 1981 and 2020. One special aircraft, registered 705-RR, caused a sensation as a solo display machine for several years, demonstrating the maneuverability of the small two-seater at many public events.
